Patents

Copyright
We have extensive experience advising on copyright ownership and infringement, developing licensing strategies and royalty arrangements, conducting copyright audits and acting in complex litigation. Our recent experience includes acting for Airservices Australia in major copyright infringement proceedings against Jeppeson Sanderson in the Federal Court of Australia. It is the first time in the world any government agency has taken steps to enforce its copyright in its aeronautical maps, charts and plans publications.

Commercialisation and licensing

We advised the Macquarie Bank-led consortium on the IP issues associated with its US$1.7 billion purchase of the global explosives business, Dyno Nobel, and Pfizer Inc on the Australian IP issues associated with the global sale of its consumer healthcare division to Johnson & Johnson.
