Project Single Leap
Advising Plenary Group as the successful project sponsor for the Single LEAP PPP (Phase 1) - a project for the delivery of single living accommodation facilities for the Commonwealth Department of Defence. Allens is also acting for Plenary Living in its bid for Phase 2 of Single LEAP.
Thai PPP Policy
Advising the Thai Government on its PPP policy, involving the preparation of a suite of standard agreements for use in connection with PPP projects. This work is highly significant given PPPs are a very novel concept in Thailand. This is the first PPP work in the country, with the Thai Government interested in using the method to implement a number of infrastructure projects.
Royal Women's Hospital
Advised ANZ and Macquarie Bank as financiers to the successful Royal Women's Health Partnership consortium (including Bilfinger Berger, Baulderstone Hornibrook and United Group) in designing, building, operating and maintaining the new Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne.
South West Rail Link
Advising the Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation on the the South West Rail Link project, the most significant heavy rail extension planned for New South Wales.
Oakajee Deep Water Port
Advising the Western Australian State Solicitor's Office on the development of the $1.5 billion Oakajee Port project, which will provide rail access to iron ore miners and other port users in the region.
Ballina Bypass Alliance
Advised the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority on the A$400 million Ballina Bypass Alliance. The matter involved the upgrade 12.4 kilometres of dual carriageway road and involved a larger number of alliance partners than usual.
Gateway Upgrade Project
Advising the Queensland Department of Main Roads on the A$1.6 billion duplication of the Gateway Bridge and upgrade of the Gateway Motorway. The State's largest ever road project will be delivered in partnership with the private sector, through a design, construct and maintain contract.
Queensland Children's Hospital
Advising the Queensland Government on the new Queensland Children's Hospital. The hospital, to be built at a cost of approximately A$1.1 billion with a bed capacity of around 400 beds, is expected to be the largest children's hospital in Australia when it is completed.
Brisbane North South Bypass Tunnel project
Advised Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook and Bilfinger Berger in their role as the construction contractor in the successful bid to build, operate, and maintain the A$2 billion North South Bypass Tunnel.
Mindarie Resource Recovery Project
Advising the Macquarie Bank led consortium as preferred proponent on the Mindarie Regional Council Resource Recovery PPP, the first ever PPP in conducted by a regional council in Australia. This project represents one of the most significant developments in waste disposal and treatment in Australia to date.
Toowoomba Bypass Project
Advising the Queensland Government project team on the A$600 million Toowoomba Bypass Project, currently being assessed by the Queensland Government as a PPP under the its PPP guidelines.
Royal Children's Hospital
Advised Babcock & Brown on the finance and equity aspects of its role as the sponsor of the consortium for the Royal Children's Hospital PPP an A$1.452 billion project under the State Government's Partnerships Victoria model.
Airport Link
Advised on the project financing facilities extended to BrisConnections Finance Pty Limited to fund the largest toll road PPP in Australia's history.
Victoria Prisons project
Advising BoS International, RBS and Calyon in financing the successful tendering consortium for the Victorian Prisons project. BoS International is arranging the bank debt for the consortium comprised of Bilfinger Berger, Baulderstone Hornibrook, United KG and NM Rothschild & Sons.
Cross City Tunnel
Advised the Cross City Motorway consortium on its successful bid to design, build, own and operate the proposed Cross City Tunnel in Sydney. The project is valued at A$1.03 billion and consists of a 2km tunnel running east-west under the Sydney CBD.
SA police stations and court houses
Advising Plenary Group, the project sponsor of the successful consortium, in its bid to redevelop various police stations and court houses in South Australia, in the first PPP delivered under the South Australian PPP Guidelines.
Robina and Noosa hospitals
Advised the Queensland Government on the Robina and Noosa hospitals projects. This is the first time in Queensland's history that the private sector will build, own, operate and then transfer public health infrastructure back to state ownership after 25 years.
Western Sydney Orbital
Acted for the senior lenders on the A$1.5 billion project debt facility for the WestLink Motorway Consortium after its successful tender to design and construct the Western Sydney Orbital road project. We also advised financiers of other consortia bidding for this project.
Dynon Port Rail Link
Advising the Victorian Government on the proposed A$120 million Dynon Port Rail Link involving delivery of a rail connection (and associated road works) between the Port of Melbourne, the Dynon rail terminals and the main intra- and interstate rail network.
Korean Tollroads
Advising Macquarie Korea Infrastructure Fund in connection with its investments in the Daegu-Busan expressway, the Chuncheon Expressway and the Youngduk-Yangjae Highway in South Korea.
