Real Estate and Funds Management
The Real Estate and Funds Management teams service all aspects of asset management, and have particular skills in complex structured transactions (including developments) and funds management products that involve real estate. We have some of Australia's leading experts on managed investments law and real estate law. The teams advise Australia's largest fund managers, corporations and multinationals, including having acted on some of Australia's most significant real estate deals, trust floats, mergers and development projects, and having devised sale and leaseback transactions for major banks and corporations. The range of services we provide is diverse, and includes:
- general real estate and structured real estate transactions;
- real estate and funds management (including IPOs and new products);
- stapling of vehicles;
- mergers and takeovers of funds and businesses;
- development projects and real estate finance;
- custody and administration, and preparation and amendment of trust deeds;
- licensing, corporate governance and compliance; and
- asset management, investment management, investor-directed portfolio, nominees and custody services.
Superannuation
The Superannuation team has extensive experience in all aspects of superannuation law, and acts for many of the major corporations in Australia and their superannuation funds. Among other things, the group provides assistance with:
- key feature statements and member booklets;
- advice on superannuation aspects of M&A transactions;
- fund wind-ups and mergers;
- SCT complaints; and
- general advice to fund trustees, including that concerning obligations under such legislation as the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (Cth), the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth).
