Allens Arthur Robinson has one of the largest and most dynamic groups of banking specialists in the region. We are one of the few firms to feature on every major legal panel in the Australian finance market and we advise some of the world’s leading financial institutions, corporates and governments across the Asian region.
The firm was ranked in the highest tier of Chambers Global Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers for 2009 in all areas of finance covered by the publication.
Our team is billed as a ‘class act’ across the banking and finance sector with ‘top quality people’ who provide ‘exceptional client service’ (Chambers Global 2008).
The group specialises in high value, sophisticated banking and finance transactions, as well as complex issues in the consumer, compliance and ecommerce areas of retail finance.
Already the leading banking and finance firm in Australia, our push into Asia continues to strengthen on the back of a number of recent transactions in the region. We are able to service the banks, their clients and our own corporate clients, in multi-jurisdictional transactions and with multi-level funding arrangements.
Lenders, credit enhancers, sponsors, borrowers and packagers have come to rely on our expert advice and sound commercial experience. Our partners have a depth of experience to enable them to advise clients on the technical aspects of transactions, while taking into account their commercial realities.

Personal property securities
The introduction of personal property securities (PPS) reform will have major repercussions for financial services institutions and corporates alike. With the law coming to effect in May 2011, PPS, for so long talked about, is now a reality. Allens has been involved in helping shape the legislation, having made two joint submissions with other firms to the Senate on the draft legislation, responding to Questions on Notice and with Partner Diccon Loxton appearing before a Senate sub-committee. Understanding the new regime, its application and how it will affect organisations will be critical to effectively planning and implementing PPS.
