insulation, panels and trading businesses to Rockwool Group for A$128 million.
International Finance Corporation, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea
Acted for World Bank Group member International Finance Corporation and IFC
Capitalization Fund in their US$140 million investment in Bank South Pacific
Limited, Papua New Guinea's biggest retail and commercial bank.
Sapporo Holdings, Vietnam
Acted for Sapporo Holdings on its acquisition of a 65 per cent interest in
Kronenbourg Vietnam Limited, a brewery joint venture between the Vietnam Tobacco
Corporation (Vinataba) and Carlsberg Brewery A/S, by way of buying out Carlsberg
and acquiring a part of Vinataba's interest.
BHP Billiton, Indonesia
Advised BHP Billiton on the establishment of a joint alliance with PT Antam Tbk
(the part Indonesian State-owned, publicly listed mining company) to explore the
joint development of extensive nickel laterite resources on the eastern
Indonesian islands of Halmahera and Gag Island and potential ore bodies
elsewhere.
TPG Star L.P.
Acted for TPG on its investment in Masan Group. TPG subscribed to convertible
bonds at a subscription price of VND630 billion (approximately US$35 million)
issued by Masan Group. This is one of the first convertible bonds denominated in
VND that have been issued to a foreign investor.
Prudential plc
Advising Prudential plc on the Indonesian aspects of its proposed acquisition of
AIA Group Limited, a Hong Kong subsidiary of American International Group, Inc.
Qantas Airways Limited, Singapore
Advised the Qantas Group on the recently completed reorganisation of the Jetstar
Asia and Valuair budget airlines. This transaction involved the acquisition and
sale of the Singapore stakeholders' interest in the business.
Rio Tinto, Asia
Acting for Rio Tinto on all aspects of the US$19.5 billion investment by
Aluminium Investment Corporation of China (Chinalco) in assets held by the Rio
Tinto group.
Star TV
Continue to advise Star TV, a division of News Corporation on a number of
matters including the restructuring of its national terrestrial television
broadcaster in Indonesia, namely PT Cakrawala Andalas Televisi (ANTV) in order
to expand its media business in Indonesia.
