Allens acts for ANZIS in part-acquisition of Neerabup Power Station
3 March 2009
Allens Arthur Robinson (Allens) has advised ANZ Infrastructure Services Limited (ANZIS) in the recent acquisition by the Energy Infrastructure Trust (EIT) of Babcock & Brown Power Ltd's interest in the Neerabup Power Station.
The deal means EIT will now own a 50 per cent partnership interest of the power station.
Allens Executive Partner Paul Quinn and Partner Anna Collyer led the transaction, alongside Senior Associate Steve Potter and Lawyer Brooke Griffin.
Allens was able to advise ANZIS on a range of facets to the deal, including negotiating the sale agreement for ANZIS, advising on the pre-emptive rights process and undertaking due diligence.
According to Ms Collyer: 'This acquisition boosts EIT's strategic position and, despite the current market, their ongoing commitment to invest in their portfolio.
'We were delighted to reinforce our long-standing relationship with ANZIS by helping them achieve completion of the acquisition given the complexity of the deal,' Ms Collyer added.
The Neerabup Power Station, located 30km north of Perth, is currently being constructed and is due to be completed in late 2009.
