Allens Chairman named on Takeovers Panel

1 March 2010

Allens Arthur Robinson (Allens) Chairman and Partner Ewen Crouch has been named as a new member of the Takeovers Panel (the Panel).

Mr Crouch, who is also Co-Head of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets group, joins nine other new appointees to the Panel.

He will begin his three-year term on 8 March 2010.

Mr Crouch will bring his experience as one of Australia's leading M&A lawyers to the Panel and offer his expertise in the resolution of disputes arising out of takeover bids.

'My appointment follows on from a number of current and former Allens Partners being on the Panel and I look forward to contributing,' said Mr Crouch.

In recent years, Mr Crouch has advised CEMEX on the A$2 billion sale of its Australian operations to Holcim, and Macquarie Airports on its internalisation of management and acquisition from Macquarie Capital. He has also been involved with capital raisings by Rio Tinto, Wesfarmers, GPT, Qantas and Onesteel.

Outside Allens, Mr Crouch is Chairman of Mission Australia, a Christian community welfare entity.
