Allens Arthur Robinson's M&A team: 'Australian Deal Team of the Year'

Allens Arthur Robinson (AAR) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice group has been named 'Australian Deal Team of the Year' at the 2007 ALB Australasian Law Awards.

Among a total of six Law Awards received by the firm, AAR's M&A team were adjudged by a panel of in-house counsel and industry figures as being 'Australia's leading law firm practice group that has stood out for its innovation, commercial acumen and outstanding service to clients across a number of transactions in 2006'.

AAR Managing Partner Tom Poulton said: 'We congratulate our M&A practice group leaders, Ewen Crouch and Jon Webster, and their outstanding team of partners and lawyers on this significant recognition of their efforts.'

Partner and Joint Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group Leader, Ewen Crouch, said: 'Transactional work is highly demanding and Australian lawyers provide an excellent level of service to their clients. To be recognised with an award such as the M&A Deal Team of the Year for our experience and efforts is therefore a source of great pride.'

Other awards shared by AAR were:

• Equity Market Deal of the Year: Telstra 3 (AAR acted for the global coordinators)
• M&A Deal of the Year: Toll Holdings/Patrick Corp (AAR acted for Patrick)
• Commercial Property & Construction Deal of the Year: Brisbane NSBT Project (AAR acted for the design and construction, and operation and maintenance contracting parties)
• Project Finance Deal of the Year: RailCorp Rollingstock PPP (AAR acted on financing aspects)
• Debt Market Deal of the Year: AXA Kangaroo Tier 1 issue (AAR acted as deal counsel instructed by the lead managers)

Mr Poulton said: 'We sincerely congratulate all the partners and lawyers whose deals won awards, along with the partners and staff who were members of teams nominated as finalists in other awards categories.'
