Annette has extensive litigation experience, including experience with complex tort and product liability litigation, commercial and complex contractual litigation, Trade Practices litigation, international law and corporate responsibility litigation (such as ATCA litigation in the US), and class actions and other coordinated proceedings. Her expertise also extends to arbitration and appeals.
In addition to her litigation expertise, Annette has substantial experience in assisting clients with proactive risk management, and enjoys the opportunity to help prevent litigation. For example, Annette assists clients in assessing and managing risk in relation to operating in foreign jurisdictions (eg, compliance with international law and law concerning foreign corrupt practices), proper crisis management, and readiness to deal with a regulator or litigation where document production is required, particularly in an electronic environment.
A former partner in the litigation and product liability group of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold in San Francisco, Annette has extensive US litigation experience. She remains a member of the California Bar Association.
Annette leads the firm's Product Liability team, is on the leadership team of the Corporate Responsibility Group and leads the firm's initiatives concerning technology and the law (including ediscovery and etrials). She is President of the National Product Liability Association and co-editor of its publication, Brief. She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. She has authored numerous articles and coordinated and presented at seminars in Australia, the USA, Singapore and Malaysia. |
