Thomas combines strong transactional experience in acquisition and project financing and corporate acquisitions. Since becoming a partner, the bulk of his matters have had an Asian focus.

He is currently a partner in the Ho Chi Minh Office but has previously spent time in the Sydney Banking & Finance department and in Bangkok, where he acted as lead partner in Allens Arthur Robinosn's joint venture office.

His recent project work has included projects in Australia, Thailand, Laos, China, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Many of these projects have been in the resources sector. One of his most recent projects, the Pan Australian financing in Laos, was named a PFI deal of the year. Acquisition financings have included Dyno Nobel, Freedom, Ion and Rentworks.

His corporate experience includes matters in insurance (both life and non-life), logistics, hotels and stockbroking.

His time in Bangkok coincided with the Asian crisis, and his insolvency and restructuring experience includes matters in transport infrastructure, real estate, stockbroking, health care and power.
