Ken's reputation for quick, effective solutions means his advice is repeatedly sought by corporate clients and their boards on a range of issues including mergers; acquisitions; equity and debt raisings; business regulation; company flotations and underwritings; and the establishment of joint ventures.
Ken led the Queensland Government legal team for the merger of Suncorp and QIDC with Metway Bank, and both tranches of the subsequent $1.6 billion public offerings of Suncorp-Metway exchanging instalment notes.
A strong strategic adviser and negotiator, Ken's success in accomplishing major transactions that add value for his clients is demonstrated by the work he has undertaken in recent times. He led the legal teams that advised the Queensland Sugar Corporation in relation to its restructure from a statutory to industry controlled body; the underwriters in the privatisation of the Queensland TAB; and on the public sale of the Queensland Government interest in the Bank of Queensland.
