Katrina specialises in corporate tax, stamp duty and GST issues across a range of industries, with particular focus on the resources, funds management and finance sectors.

Some of the major transactions on which Katrina has advised include:

• Shell's proposed acquisition of Arrow Energy, in conjunction with PetroChina, for A$3.3 billion;
• Shell's acquisition of an interest in Arrow Energy's assets – advising Shell on its initial acquisition of a 30 per cent direct interest in Arrow Energy's coal bed methane assets in Australia;
• Rio Tinto – the Western Australian production joint venture with BHP Billiton and the proposed strategic alliance with Chinalco; and
• the establishment of DB RREEF (now Dexus Property Group).

In addition to her time at Allens, Katrina has worked in the tax group at Clifford Chance LLP in London advising on UK tax issues, with a particular focus on capital markets transactions, including Eurobond programmes for both UK and non-UK issuers.

Katrina is a member of the Queensland technical committee of the Taxation Institute of Australia and the Taxation Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
