The roots of this Allens Arthur Robinson office go back to 1846, when Robert Little, a lifetime friend of George Wigram Allen, son of the founding Allen, settled in Brisbane and created a law firm.

As Feez Ruthning, the firm became one of Brisbane's leading commercial legal practices, merging with Allens in 1996.

Our Brisbane office has a particularly strong basis in natural resources, infrastructure, property development and corporate work, and a powerful track record in advising the State Government.

Our recent experience includes:

  • advising Shell on its proposed acquisition of interests in the coal seam methane assets of Arrow Energy, both in Australia and Asia, for up to US$771 million in connection with a broader agreement to assist development of Arrow's coal seam and LNG projects
  • advising Xstrata on its A$544 million bid for Indophil Resources
  • advising GPT on all aspects of the development, construction, leasing and management of the One One One office tower, a major CBD development showcasing the world's best practice in sustainability and engineering
  • advising on the development of the multi-billion dollar Traveston and Wyaralong dam projects
  • advising Queensland Treasury Corporation and Queensland Health on the proposal to develop the new Queensland Children's Hospital in partnership with the Mater Health Services
  • advising on the divestment of Stanwell and Tarong's wind farms (Australia wide) and Enertrade's gas businesses (pipelines and merchant)
  • advising Anthony John Group on a major mixed use development at South Bank, involving the interface with South Bank railway station, a boutique hotel, residential apartments, retail and commercial office space
  • advising on all aspects of the State's largest-ever road project, the A$1.88 billion duplication of the Gateway Bridge and upgrade of 20 kilometres of the Gateway Motorway
  • advising Queensland Health on its whole-of-enterprise eHealth alliance, for business and clinical change management and the development of enterprise architecture and program delivery for eHealth systems to support change across all clinical and administrative channels, over a five-to-seven year timeframe
