Our locally licensed Intellectual Property business - Allens Arthur Robinson Intellectual Property (Beijing) Limited (安德慎知识产权代理（北京）有限公司), is licensed as a Chinese trademark agency and undertakes all trade mark-related intellectual property work in China on the same basis as domestic Chinese intellectual property firms.

The services provided by our expert Beijing trade mark team, led by Ted Marr Practice Manager - Greater China Intellectual Property (view CV), include:

• filing and prosecution of trade mark applications, renewals, assignments, licences, oppositions, cancellations, and infringement actions;
• providing legal advice and acting as legal consultant on trade mark laws; and
• handling other trade mark related legal matters.

The range of work includes:

• Trade mark clearance searches for new brands and products;
• due diligence exercises in anticipation of business investment, sale and purchase and M&A projects;
• commercial work for businesses (whether local or foreign-owned) in China, such as franchising and licensing and documenting the sale or transfer of trade marks and related IP rights;
• intellectual property enforcement actions brought through the State Administration for Industry & Commerce (SAIC);
• registration of rights and enforcement actions brought via the China Customs Department;
• drafting and sending letters of demand asserting trade mark infringement and related breaches, for example under China's Anti-Unfair Competition Law, or in relation to breach of IP related contracts;
• domain name registration and protection and domain name dispute resolution;
• issuing opinions and advice on applicable PRC law in relation to all these fields of practice; and
• co-ordinating & managing with licensed Chinese lawyers related legal proceedings in the Chinese courts.
